The COVID Origins Act: An Analysis of its Implications

The COVID Origins Act, which was passed by both the House and Senate by unanimous consent, has been touted as a critical development in the fight against the COVID pandemic. The Act calls for the Director of National Intelligence to declassify information about the origin of COVID-19, specifically any potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the virus's origin. However, the Act's language is cleverly written and has the potential to shift blame away from the Department of Defense (DOD), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Dr. Anthony Fauci, who supported and funded gain-of-function work carried out by EcoHealth Alliance.

The Act's Section 2, titled "Sense of Congress," provides guidance for the purpose of the law but will not control or alter the more substantive parts of the law found elsewhere in the bill. Section 3 is where the substantive language and specific instructions from Congress come into play, requiring the Director of National Intelligence to declassify any and all information relating to potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the origin of COVID-19, while specifying that ONLY information related to Wuhan be released. Additionally, the language of the bill allows for redaction of "sources and methods" as another out.

The practical impact of the bill is that Congress will receive a report that places 100% of the blame for the creation of SARS-COV-2 on China while avoiding ANY discussion of the reality that the DOD, CDC, and Anthony Fauci supported and funded its creation through EcoHealth Alliance. It is highly unlikely that the bill was written this way by accident, and the unanimous consent with which it was passed may indicate that Congresspeople were broken into two camps: those that the DOD told to support it, and those that blindly supported it because they misunderstood what it does.

While China and the CCP may have had a hand in the COVID pandemic, the bill's real purpose may be to pressure China to stay out of Taiwan and the Russia/Ukraine debacle while shifting blame away from the DOD/intel community. However, the CCP knows this and also knows that their credibility on a global scale is poor at best, so they will have limited capacity to counter this narrative in much of the world. The CCP most likely views this as a major escalation in the ongoing warfare between them and the western world, which could result in similar escalation from their side.

COVID Origins Act has the potential to shift blame away from the DOD, CDC, and Dr. Anthony Fauci for supporting and funding gain-of-function work carried out by EcoHealth Alliance. The Act's language is cleverly written and has the potential to place 100% of the blame for the creation of SARS-COV-2 on China. While the real purpose of the bill may be to pressure China to stay out of Taiwan and the Russia/Ukraine debacle, its unintended consequences could push us closer to open warfare, leading to World War III.
